INDICATIONS
Ecchinococcus infection (prior to surgery or surgery that can not be done), Neurosistiserkosis, askariasis, kapilariasis, enterobiasis, hookworm infection, strongiloidiasis, trikostrongiliasis, trikuriasis, filariasis.

DOSE
Cyst Ekinokokus:
Adults> 60 kg: 800 mg per day divided into two feedings for 28 days, followed 14 days drug free. Repeat as many as 3 cycles.
Adults <60 kg: 15 mg / kg per day divided into two feedings (maximum 800 mg per day) for 28 days, followed by 14 days drug free. Repeat up to 3 cycles.
Ekinokokus alveolar:
Adults: equal treatment Ekinokokus cyst, but the cycle can be repeated up to several months or years.
Neurosistiserkosis:
Adults> 60 kg: 800 mg per day in two feedings for 8-30 days.
Adults <60 kg: 15 mg / kg per day divided into two feedings (maximum 800 mg per day) for 8-30 days.
Askariasis, hookworm, enterobiasis, trikostrongiliasis:
Adults and children> 2 years: 400 mg, single dose at a time.
Children 12 months - 2 years: 200 mg, single dose at a time.
Trikuriasis:
Adults and children> 2 years: 400 mg, single dose at a time. For severe infections: can be continued for 3 days.
Children 12 months - 2 years: 200 mg, single dose at a time. For severe infections: can be continued for 3 days (2 x 100 mg in the second and third day).
Strongiloidiasis:
Adults and children> 2 years: 400 mg per day for 3 days.
Capillariasis:
Adults and children> 2 years: 400 mg per day for 10 days.

SIDE EFFECTS
Gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, elevated liver enzymes, alopecia, skin rash, fever, leukopenia, pancytopenia, seizures and meningeal stimulation in diseases of the brain infection, or cysts that rupture when treated.

DRUG INTERACTION
Dexamethasone: increased levels of albendazole in the blood.
Prazikuantel: increase in blood levels of albendazole.
