A. Aluminum Hydroxide
INDICATIONS
Overcome the symptoms of dyspepsia (ulcer and ulcer don), gastro-esophageal reflux disease, hyperphosphatemia.
CONS INDICATION
Hipofosfatemia, gastrointestinal bleeding who have not been diagnosed, appendicitis. Not safe for infants and neonates.
DOSE
adults: 1-2 tablets chewed 4 times daily and at bedtime or 5-10 ml suspension 4 times daily between meals and before bed children 6-12 years: 5 ml, maximum 3 times a day.
Caution: Do not take other medicines within 2-4 hours after taking this medicine. Can be drunk with water to reduce constipation.
SIDE EFFECTS
Constipation, use in large doses can cause intestinal blockage, hipofosfatemia, hipercalciuria, increased risk of osteomalacia, dementia, microcytic anemia in patients with renal failure.
SPECIMENS
Oral liquid: 320 mg / 5 ml
Tablets: 500 mg.
B. Magnesium Hydroxide
INDICATIONS
Overcome the symptoms of dyspepsia (ulcer and ulcer don), gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
CONS INDICATION
Severe kidney damage
DOSE
Adults: 5-10 ml, repeated according to patient needs.
SIDE EFFECTS
Diarrhea, hipermagnesemia thus reducing tendon reflexes and respiratory depression, nausea, vomiting, reddening of the skin, thirst, hypotension, drowsiness, muscle weakness, weak pulse, coma, and cardiac arrest (in the severe renal abnormalities).
SPECIMENS
Oral fluid, equivalent to 550 mg of magnesium oksida/10 ml.
C. COMBINATION OF ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM (ACITRAL, antacids doen)
INDICATIONS
Dyspepsia, GERD
CONS INDICATION

The combination of aluminum and magnesium to reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared with separate preparations (see above).

Tablet: Aluminum Hydroxide 200 mg, Magnesium Hydroxide 200 mg.
Suspension: per 5 ml contains 200 mg Aluminum Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide 200 mg
